Paris London Tokyo?

Possibly Paris, but London and Tokyo? Likely not. I'm talking about moving guys, as I suffer from wanderlust in the worst way right now. Northern California notwithstanding, the last place I went to in recent memory was Pittsburgh, and that was for work. BTW big ups to Pittsburgh since I had a great time when I wasn't cooped up in class, and I went to the most amazing record shop EVER (but more on that later).

As I was saying, I am seriously contemplating moving from LA in the next 2-3 years. Mainly because I absolutely refuse to have my child spend his formative years in LA. There is just something so undeniably fake about most things I see here. It truly is like living on a movie set. Even the weather is perfect most days. Despite this fact, the inescapable feeling that this place is not normal wrecks havoc on me, so I can only imagine what it would do to an impressionable young, Black child. Remember that in this town, light is always right.

The other factor is the upcoming election. I am hoping and praying that Barack Obama wins. I really, really, really, really am. Because if he does not, I am leaving this country. And yes, I will leave all of the conveniences that I love behind, but that's what the internet is for.
